EVANS AND SKULL KING TO HIGHLIGHT CP TOOL BOX ON NHRA MIDWAY AGAIN IN 2007
Rock Hill, S.C. - (January 31, 2007) Custom designer Rich Evans has turned into a nitro junkie! After being a guest of Chicago Pneumatic for the first time at the NHRA Sonoma event in July 2006, he returned to two more events later in the season at Las Vegas and the finale at Pomona with his Skull King creation.Evans' relationships in the NHRA community continue to grow and flourish.
In Sonoma, Tony Pedregon stopped by the trailer before one of his Funny Car qualifying runs to check out the Skull King and they developed a friendship, resulting in Evans painting a couple helmets for Pedregon. At the Pomona finale in November, Evans befriended another NHRA racer, Top Fuel dragster pilot Cory McClenathan. They struck up a relationship and now Evans is designing and painting a helmet for Cory Mac to wear this NHRA POWERade Drag Racing season.
To kick off the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Evans will again flaunt his talents with his Skull King creation at the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Box, next to the Ringers Glove Shack, on the Manufacturer's Midway. Evans and Skull King will also be appearing at the following NHRA events; Phoenix, February 23-25; Las Vegas 1, April 12-15; Sonoma, July 27-29; Las Vegas 2, October 25-28 and the NHRA season finale at Pomona, November 1-4.
Evans and crew utilize a unique airbrushing system that appears to be tattooed on the bodies of the vehicles. Evans' is a crucial part of each project, in which he designs, fabricates and paints.
Some of the projects that Evans has created include the aforementioned projects, as well as the Meguiar Semi Truck, Electric Queen, Urban Assault and Liberty.
Since Evans' last appearance, he has introduced a line of his own branded wheels, Rich Evans Wheels produced by Prestige Autotech Corporation. Evans, a custom hot rod designer, builder and painter, founded Huntington Beach Bodyworks in 1992 out of his personal garage.
